Entree makes the right start

Leading freshman sire Snitzel has taken his number of first crop individual winners to six.

The impeccably bred filly Entree became Snitzel’s sixth individual first crop winner when she won on debut at Muswellbrook in NSW on Monday.

Trained by Paul Messara, Entree is out of the Marscay mare Prima, a half sister to champion sire Zabeel and Group One winner Baryshnikov.

Despite her pedigree she was retained by Arrowfield Stud after she was passed-in for only $37,500 at the 2009 Inglis Premier Yearling Sale in Melbourne.

Snitzel is currently Australia’s leading first season sire by earnings. He is head and head with Queensland-based freshman sire Jet Spur (a son of Arrowfield Stud stallion Flying Spur) for individual winners.
