Doull makes 137 SW for Snitzel
Snitzel wasn’t about to be left out of the Arrowfield roster’s big day at Caulfield and sure enough, his 4YO son Doull won the $300,000 Caulfield Sprint 1000m G2 with another Snitzel son Generation filling third place.
Doull is Stakeswinner No. 137 for his amazing Champion Sire, and the 11th from Snitzel’s 2019 crop.
Twenty minutes after Doull’s victory, another high achiever from that crop, the Arrowfield graduate Dashing Legend, won at Randwick – her first appearance for her new owners and new trainer Joe Pride after being sold for $1.6 million at the Inglis Chairman’s Sale in May.

Bred by Shadwell Stud Australasia from 2YO stakeswinner Bulbula (by Shamardal), Doull was also a 7-figure purchase, sold from Yarraman Park’s Inglis Easter yearling draft for $1.2 million to the Rosemont Victorian Stallion Alliance and agents Suman Hedge & David Redvers.
Like the Alliance’s other buys, Doull is named for a champion AFL footballer – in his case, Carlton legend Bruce Doull.
It was Rosemont’s Anthony Mithen who persuaded trainer Annabel Neasham to start the 4YO in the Group 2 feature and he was understandably delighted with the result.
“He’s beaten some pretty nice horses. There’s plenty of upside with him now he’s fully matured.
“You’ve got to be patient if you’re trying to develop stallions. If you’re patient you might just get the rewards.”
Rosemont has also bought several of Doull’s relatives including his Group-winning half-sister Aryaaf, and their dam Bulbula who has a yearling colt by Snitzel.
Snitzel offers plenty of reasons to buy his yearling colts as stallion prospects. He has 12 stakes-siring sons, including 5 that have left Group 1 winners: Shamus Award, Russian Revolution, Spill The Beans, Invader and Trapeze Artist.
