Dellingr shines at Equimillion
There was a great buzz around the inaugural $1 million Equimillion and it was fantastic to see so many off-the-track Thoroughbreds competing across several disciplines, enjoying and succeeding in their post-racing careers.
We at Arrowfield were delighted to spot some familiar faces amongst the competitors, including 5YO Arrowfield graduate Dellingr who was ridden by talented eventer Elsa Ribal-Vigneau. The Not A Single Doubt gelding out of Group-placed NZ mare Gesemi was born and raised in our paddocks before his sale as a yearling at Inglis Classic in 2020.
However, after several unsuccessful starts in New South Wales, it was clear that Dellingr wasn’t meant to be a racehorse. Trainer Stephen Farley thought a career off the track might suit him much better and he was right: Dellingr has shone in the world of equestrian Eventing.
Elsa first spotted him at an event and kept a close eye on him until the opportunity to purchase him finally arose. Knowing straight away he was special, Elsa agreed to buy him after spending just two minutes on his back.
From then on Dellingr has been putting his best hoof forward in his new career, collecting a 1st prize in the Eventing at Equimillion and recently competing in the 95cm class at Sydney’s 3 Day Event, taking home 3rd in the Young Event Class.
Described by Elsa as “athletic, smart and talented… [and] one of the best horses I have ridden”, Dellingr has a very bright future in front of him!
