Danzero’s speedy Pyrography burns at Newcastle

Speedy 3YO filly Pyrography (ex Burningwood by Tabasco Cat) headed a quartet of winners for Danzero today, with a 2.5 length win over 900 metres at Newcastle, her first appearance for the season.

At Randwick, 4YO gelding Mazzini (ex Catecombe by Papal Power) earned the biggest cheque of his career with victory in the 1600-metre AJC Woollahra Handicap. An hour later at Geelong 3YO gelding Take The Moment (ex Fleur de Belle by Zabeel) registered his first win at only his second start. The closely related Danzae (ex Nae Haevering by Zabeel’s sire Sir Tristram) then rounded off a good day for Danzero with victory at Goulburn.

Both Mazzini and Bellerive graduate Take The Moment were Magic Millions purchases, Danzae was passed in at the Melbourne Premier Sale, and Pyrography is trained by Paul Messara for her breeders, Arrowfield and Shadai Farm’s Katsumi Yoshida.

Danzero is the sire of more than 500 individual winners, including 7 Group One winners, and notched up his 36th stakeswinner when Hidden Wonder took out last month’s Gosford RC Belle of the Turf S. LR.
