Buying from Arrowfield is a Sweet Idea
Sweet Idea became the latest stakes performer from the 2012 Arrowfield Magic Millions Sale draft when she held on gamely for second in today’s $150,000 BRC B.J. McLachlan S. 1200m G3.

The Gai Waterhouse-trained Snitzel filly won an early battle for the lead and settled comfortably in front, then fought hard to retain second placing behind Missy Longstocking.
Sweet Idea’s first three starts have produced a win, two placings and more than $115,000 prizemoney, which secures her place in the $2 million Magic Millions 2YO Classic (R) LR on 12 January. She is the 11th stakes performer this season for Snitzel, who is currently second, between his barn-mates Charge Forward & Not A Single Doubt, on the Australian 2YO Sires’ list.
Arrowfield offered, and sold 24 yearlings at the 2012 Magic Millions Sale and eight have now raced. Of these, five are already stakes performers – and they were bought for prices ranging from $30,000 to $250,000.
Overall, the 2012 Sale has produced 14 stakes performers, but no other vendor has been the source of more than one stakes performer.
