Beneteau weanling makes $80,000 at Magic Millions Sale

Beneteau’s death earlier this year was a great loss to Arrowfield, and it’s a loss that’s likely to increase if the interest in his first weanlings is any indication.

Eight lots by the Group 3-winning son of Redoute’s Choice were offered at last week’s Magic Millions Gold Coast National Weanling Sale and they sold for a handy average of almost 3 times his service fee of $10,000 + GST.

Top price of $80,000 was paid by David Kobritz’s Musk Creek Farm for the colt from Rocketing, consigned by Newgate Farm. Rocketing (by Rock of Gibraltar) is a three-quarter sister to Group 2-winning juvenile Indian Ocean.

Beneteau will be represented by the first of his two crops of yearlings at the 2014 sales.
