Arrowfield welcomes first foals by Dundeel

Arrowfield’s Manager Paul Messara has welcomed the Stud’s first two foals by Australian champion Dundeel.

Messara says, “We’re delighted with both these foals, they’re full of quality and athletic, and offer early evidence that Dundeel is going to be well-suited to the mares we’ve selected for him.”

First to arrive was the bay filly from Choice Blend (by Redoute’s Choice) a half-sister to multiple Group 1 winner Bentley Biscuit, from the prolific family of champion sire Thorn Park and Group winners Light Up The World, World Peace & Chivalry.

Choice Blend has an unraced 3YO son and a yearling daughter by Charge Forward, and a 2YO colt by Gio Ponti.

Less than 24 hours later, dual Group winner Sharnee Rose (by Nadeem) safely delivered her first foal, also a bay filly.

Sharnee Rose was trained by Kris Lees to win the ATC Golden Pendant G3, beating Red Tracer, and the ATC Angst S. G3, while her dozen placings included a third behind Atlantic Jewel and Mosheen in the MRC Thousand Guineas G1.

Her pedigree is very familiar to Arrowfield, because her third dam is Easy Date, also the ancestress of leading sires Not A Single Doubt & Snippets, Golden Slipper winner Forensics and Group 1 winners Rewaaya & Ertijaal.

Arrowfield and partners have 21 mares foaling to the six-time Group 1 winner this Spring, fifteen of them, including champion Miss Finland, by Danehill sons or grandsons.

Standing his second season at a fee of $27,500 inc. GST, Dundeel will parade alongside champion sire Redoute’s Choice and freshman Olympic Glory at the Arrowfield Stallion Open House, 20-23 August – click here for more information.
