All American filly sells for $240,000
A new top price for an All American filly was achieved on Day 3 of the buoyant Magic Millions Gold Coast Sale.
New Zealand bloodstock agent Dean Hawthorne made the final bid of $240,000 for Arrowfield’s filly from the Hussonet mare Illusionary. The filly is a full sister to Invisible, who will start among the favourites in tomorrow’s $2 million Magic Millions 2YO Classic.
The top-priced All American colt from the first three days of the Sale was offered by Widden Stud and bought for $150,000 by Queensland trainer Bryan Guy. He is from Majeed, an unraced Fastnet Rock half-sister to Group 2 winner Toast Of The Coast.
Tony Pistikakis and his partners at PFG Racing, who race Invisible, paid $135,000 for his close relation, the All American-Lodore Falls colt in the Arrowfield consignment.
Nine lots by All American have now sold for an average of $97,778, more than six times his 2011 fee of $15,000.
A further four yearlings by the Group 1-winning son of Red Ransom will go through the Magic Millions sale-ring on Saturday evening and Sunday. They include Arrowfield’s colt from Do Gooda (by Generous) – inspect him online here.
