Maurice is building a powerful team of 3YOs for next season and on Saturday his daughter Ethereum Girl stepped up to lead it with a strong victory in the $150,000 South Australian Sires’ Produce S. 1400m G3.
She earns Group-winning status at only her 4th start, following her maiden win on 9 June and a close second in the SAJC Oaklands Plate LR on 28 June.
Ethereum Girl is Maurice’s 7th juvenile stakeswinner and one of his 22 worldwide stakes performers since 1 August 2024, a group that includes his first elite 2YO winner Admire Zoom (Kyoto Asahi Hai Futurity S. G1) and Australian stakes-placed 2YOs Jenni Gone Bonkers (dam by Pierro) & Katsumi Orochi (dam by Snitzel).
Five of the 7 winning 2YOs from Maurice’s 2022 Australian crop have succeeded in city company, while the first 4 winners from his 2023 Japanese crop include the record-breaking pure white filly Marga.
Ethereum Girl also delivered the 250th win this season for Lindsay Park Australia’s training team of Ben, Will & J.D. Hayes.

Jockey Jason Holder said, “I probably got there a bit too soon, but I presented her and she said let’s go. She pulled her way into it, which is good, she’s got room for improvement for sure.”
Like this season’s 3YO Listed winner Dream Of The Moon, Ethereum Girl is out of Moonchild (by Charge Forward) and was bred by former Arrowfielders Kerry Stephens & Denis Griffin of Glenbeigh Farm. They sold her at Magic Millions 2024 for $275,000 to Ciaron Maher Bloodstock and she races for Mark Needham, Daniel Kelb, David Tavoletti & Bill Nicholas.
Moonchild, from the family of Australian Hall of Famer Northerly, Group 1 winner Overpass & Group-winning Arrowfield graduate Wild Rain, has a rising 2YO colt by Yes Yes Yes and is again in foal to Maurice.
