5 Group-winning graduates by Snitzel in 5 weeks
There’s an excellent reason to buy a Snitzel yearling from the Arrowfield draft at the Inglis Australian Easter Sale this coming week. Arrowfield is the source of all five of Snitzel’s Group winners since 1 March.
Hot Snitzel made the latest delivery of that message when he ran away with the $125,000 Sebring S. 1200m G3 at Rosehill this afternoon. The win takes the powerhouse gelding’s record to 6 wins – four of them in Group or Listed company – 5 placings and $740,250 from 19 starts.

Trained by Gerald Ryan, Hot Snitzel was purchased by Triple Crown Syndications from the draft of Arrowfield’s sister fanm Bellerive Stud for $60,000 at the 2010 Inglis Melbourne Premier Sale.
Sweet Idea (ATC Silver Slipper S. G2, 2 March; and a gallant 3rd in today’s ATC Golden Slipper S. G1) made $240,000 at the 2012 Magic Millions Gold Coast Sale; and Aliyana Tilde (ATC Epona S. G3, 30 March) was purchased from the 2010 Inglis Melbourne Premier Sale. Both fillies were sold under the Arrowfield Stud banner.
Snitzerland (ATC Challenge S. G2, 16 March; 2nd, ATC The Galaxy H. G1) and Flying Snitzel (VRC A.V. Kewney S. G2, 9 March) were bought from the Bellerive draft at the 2011 Inglis Melbourne Premier Sale.
All five horses were bred by Arrowfield, with Hot Snitzel, Flying Snitzel and Sweet Idea the results of Arrowfield’s partnership with Jungle Pocket Pty Ltd.
The “”Snitzel Master”” Gerald Ryan trains three of them: Hot Snitzel, Flying Snitzel and Snitzerland, while Gai Waterhouse prepares Sweet Idea, and Ken Parker trains Aliyana Tilde.
There’s another excellent reason to buy Snitzel yearlings from Arrowfield: this quintet have returned more than 7 times their collective purchase price.
There are three colts and a filly by Snitzel in Arrowfield’s 2013 Easter Sale draft. View their videos and pedigrees here – better still, head down to the historic Big Barn at Newmarket, Sydney, see them in the flesh and stay for coffee, lunch or a snack at the Arrowfield marquee.
