18 seasons of stakes success
Redoute’s Choice had few more loyal or successful supporters than leading Perth owner-breeders Bob & Sandra Peters and on Saturday his daughter Perfect Jewel gave them a welcome Group win at Caulfield.
The 6YO mare’s decisive victory at 12/1 in the $160,000 MRC W.W. Cockram S. 1200m G3 – only her second stakes win at the distance – caught punters by surprise, but her quality has never been in doubt and with four Group wins from six starts this year, she’s in the best form of her life.

Perfect Jewel will eventually join the Peters’ stellar band of broodmares – many of them by Redoute’s Choice – but in the meantime, the $1 million Empire Rose S. G1 at Flemington on 31 October looks ideal for her.
She and her full sister, Listed winner Royal Star, both out of Star Encounter (by Jeune), are among the 7 stakes-winning Redoute’s Choice fillies bred and raced by the Peters.
Perfect Jewel and multiple European Group winner Enbihaar have opened Redoute’s Choice’s 18th season of stakes success, so far totalling 358 Group & Listed wins – a rate of one black type win every 17.4 days.
With the likes King’s Legacy, Prague & Perfect Jewel still in play, his penultimate crop of 2YOs in the pipeline and his last crop of yearlings selling next year, it’s easy to predict that the three-time Champion Sire will once again be making headlines in 2020/21.
