Not A Single Doubt’s record just gets Stronger

It takes a special kind of stallion to compile consecutive seasons of high performance – for example, top 10 Premiership finishes, double-figure stakeswinners and eight-figure prizemoney totals.

By those measures, Not A Single Doubt, who began his career at a $12,500 fee, is on a roll that now spans four seasons and his record & reputation continue to strengthen.

So there is a neat synchronicity about the name of his 65th stakeswinner, 2YO colt Stronger who won a hard-fought battle with the favourite Accession in Saturday’s $140,000 GCTC Ken Russell Memorial Classic 1200m G3.

It was the colt’s third win from 7 starts and makes him Not A Single Doubt’s 22nd lifetime 2YO stakeswinner and his 13th stakeswinner this season.

There’s plenty of strength in the bottom half of Stronger’s pedigree too.

Bred by Arrowfield & Planette Thoroughbred, Stronger is the second foal of the winning Starcraft mare Star Pupil, also the dam of stakes-placed New Zealand filly Tiger Silk (by All American) and a daughter of the excellent racemare and outstanding producer Ain’t Seen Nothin’.

Offered by Arrowfield at Inglis Easter 2018, Stronger was bought for $1.05 million by James Harron for a group of owners including Belinda Bateman, Rob & Donna Love, Fergus Doyle, Steve Gillard and John & Fran Ingham.

Sent to Peter & Paul Snowden, he won on debut at Kembla Grange last November, placed at Rosehill, won at Randwick in March, then finished third in Cosmic Force’s Pago Pago S. G3 & fourth in Bivouac’s Kindergarten S. G3 on 6 April before heading to Queensland.

Stronger’s maiden stakes victory kicked off a hectic half-hour for Not A Single Doubt. First, his Tony McEvoy-trained 2YO daughter Balaabel finished second on debut in the SAJC Queen Adelaide S. LR, then 3YO filly Fidelia won well at Flemington, her third success in 7 starts for trainer Robbie Griffiths.
By day’s end, Not A Single Doubt’s  2018/19 prizemoney had increased by more than $320,000 to $9.1 million, putting him on course for his fourth consecutive $10 million-plus Australian season.

Stronger’s year-younger full brother is one of three Not A Single Doubt colts catalogued for next month’s Magic Millions National Yearling Sale.
