An Exhilarating week for the Champion dynasty
Living legend Redoute’s Choice made headlines at the 2019 Magic Millions Sale with a Book 1 average of almost $550,000 and three glorious colts offered by Bhima Thoroughbreds, Segenhoe Stud & Newhaven Park fetching $1.6 million, $1.4 million and $1.075 million.
Redoute’s Choice has now notched up 79 million-dollar yearlings across 15 years, with at least one sale at that level every year since 2004 – a matchless span of elite Australasian sale-ring achievement.
Come the $10 million Magic Millions Gold Coast Raceday and it was the turn of Redoute’s Choice’s first-magnitude sire sons to shine.
And shine they did as Godolphin’s outstanding filly Exhilarates (by Snitzel) stormed to victory in the $2 million Magic Millions 2YO Classic 1200m RL, with Not A Single Doubt’s resolute son Dubious completing an Arrowfield roster quinella.

Bred by Greg Perry, Echo Beach Bloodstock, Hybrook Pastoral Company, Encompass International & Werrett Bloodstock, Exhilarates is the second foal of Blue Diamond G1 winner Samaready (by More Than Ready). She was bought from the Vinery Stud draft for $600,000 by Godolphin on their 2018 return to the Australian yearling marketplace.
Satisfying as it was to add another triumph to Snitzel’s list of big race wins, he also came very close to achieving an historic Magic Millions treble. His son Bondi was nosed out of victory by Boomsara in the $2 million 3YO Guineas 1400m RL, and 4YO colt Goodfella went down by less than a half-length in the $1 million Magic Millions Trophy over 2200 metres.
However, there was plenty of consolation when the General Sires’ table updated on Saturday evening. Snitzel’s earnings that day of $2.1 million, including doubles at Flemington & Randwick, gave him a new total of $16,033,986 and extended his lead on I Am Invincible to $6.5 million.
The reigning Champion Sire also took charge of the 2YO Sires’ Premiership with $1.5 million prizemoney, ahead of I Am Invincible, Better Than Ready & Not A Single Doubt.
Redoute’s Choice joined the racetrack party when his excellent son Redouble took out the last race on the card, $1 million Magic Millions Cup 1400m RL.
Bred by Grant Sheldon & Macedon Park out of Group 1 winner Special Mission (by Towkay), Redouble is the 162nd stakeswinner for his three-time Champion Sire.

Not A Single Doubt supplied the dynasty’s final flourish of the day during the festive evening session that traditionally concludes Book 1 of the Magic Millions Sale. Arrowfield’s Lot 853, the full sister to Group 1 winner Secret Agenda was knocked down for $875,000 to US-based Stonestreet Stables.
Stonestreet previously enjoyed Group 1 success with Not A Single Doubt’s daughter Miracles Of Life, dam of the $1 million filly bought by Godolphin earlier in the session.
Not A Single Doubt ended Book 1 with 27 lots sold at an average price of almost $290,000, while Snitzel’s 33 lots averaged $366,970, with a top price of $800,000 paid by Phoenix Thoroughbreds & Aquis Farm for Edinburgh Park’s colt out of Fortune Of War.
