All American's message heard at Magic Millions

The message delivered by All American’s early season 2YOs was heeded by the buyers who paid an average of almost $80,000 – around 5 times his 2013 fee – for his six yearlings at the Magic Millions Gold Coast Sale.

Top price of $160,000 was paid by Cook Bloodstock and Henderson Racing & Breeding for Arrowfield’s quality filly out of Lahana, a daughter of Hussonet and champion filly Alinghi.

Belmont Bloodstock’s bid of $95,000 secured a colt bred on the same cross, out of city-winning juvenile Illusionary. Also offered by Arrowfield, he’s a full brother to the very talented Invisible whose Australian career was cut short by serious injury, from the family of Group winners Chase The Rainbow, Ms Funovits & Sonic Quest.

Syndicator Darby Racing bought two lots by All American, including Rheinwood Pastoral’s $85,000 half-brother to Listed winner So Anyway, from Addictive (by Flying Spur).

The champion stable of David Hayes & Tom Dabernig is the new home of the Gibraltar Moon colt, a close relation of Group winner Bachman. He was an $80,000 purchase by Dalziel Racing & Lindsay Park Racing from the draft of Queensland vendor Aquis Farm.

A trio of city-winning juveniles, Rampage (also 3rd, Inglis Nursery LR), Yankee Rose & Yankee Express have raised All American’s profile this season and shot him into the top 10 on the Australian 2YO Sires’ list.

Given All American’s Danehill-free pedigree, it’s no surprise to see him proving to be an effective outcross for mares carrying the supersire’s DNA. Bachman, Rampage and Yankee Express are all out of mares by Danehill sons, and Invisible’s grand-dam is by Redoute’s Choice.

However, All American has also done well with daughters of End Sweep, Hussonet, Unbridled’s Song & Xaar from the Mr. Prospector sireline, and Vice Regent’s sons Deputy Minister & Regal Classic.

The Group 1-winning son of Red Ransom has a strong group of 13 yearlings catalogued for next month’s Inglis Classic Sale, including colts from Listed winner Stormy Miss & Group winner Sylvaner, a colt from a Hussonet daughter of Group 1 winner Honor Lap, and two fillies and a colt out of Redoute’s Choice mares.
