Good fun for Starcraft at Morphettville

Starcraft’s 3YO daughter Goodfun Girl relished her first try over 1600 metres at Morphettville today and romped home by three lengths for her second win.

Bred by Toorak Park Stud, Goodfun Girl is another graduate of South Australia’s celebrated Mill Park Stud and was retained by Harry Perks and partners after being passed in at the 2012 Inglis Melbourne Premier Sale.

Trained by Leon Macdonald & Andrew Gluyas, the filly broke her maiden at Oakbank in December at her second run this season after four 2YO starts that yielded a couple of placings.

Goodfun Girl is the first foal of city winner Queen’s Kiss (by French Deputy), a great-grand-daughter of 2YO stakeswinner Loving Cup (also third in Burst’s 1992 Golden Slipper), and a relative of Group 1 2YO winner Sizzling (by Snitzel) and multiple stakeswinner Hoss Amor.

All are members of the Clinging Vine family developed by celebrated South Australian winemaker and sportsman Wyndham Hill-Smith.

Starcraft is also enjoying success with current 2YOs Statton (won in Sydney at his second start), Dual Star (stakes-placed on debut in Sydney), Jinx (placed in Melbourne) and Star Drop (placed in Queensland).

Starcraft has 22 lots in next month’s Inglis Melbourne Premier Sale, including four colts and three fillies to be offered by Arrowfield – click here for more information.
