New stakes-winning graduate for Arrowfield

Arrowfield’s former resident sire Hussonet has provided the Stud’s latest stakes-winning graduate, Hussy By Choice who dominated today’s $100,000 WATC Miss Andretti S. 1200m LR.

It was the 4YO mare’s sixth victory from 13 starts in Western Australia where she races in the care of trainer Simon Miller. The daughter of Little Flower (by Redoute’s Choice) was an $80,000 purchase by Aquanita Racing from the Arrowfield draft at the 2011 Inglis Australian Easter Sale.

Hussy By Choice is Hussonet’s 91st stakeswinner, and the 26th stakeswinner for Redoute’s Choice as a broodmare sire.

She is also the best performer to date out of Little Flower, an unraced sister to Group 3 winner Mirrasalo. Hussy By Choice’s second dam is the Group 1-placed stakeswinner St. Therese, a half-sister to the outstanding sprinter-miler Planet Ruler.

Hussonet played a role in another successful Arrowfield graduate was on the same card at Ascot. That was 2YO colt Hold Your Tongue (Stratum-Weekend Gossip by Hussonet), successful on debut in the Westspeed 2YO Plate over 1100 metres for trainers Lou & Dion Luciani.

The father-and-son team paid $160,000 for Hold Your Tongue at last year’s Magic Millions Gold Coast Sale, where he was offered by Arrowfield on behalf of breeder Teeley Assets.

Weekend Gossip, a half-sister to multiple Group 1 winner Mentality, has already left Group 3 winner I’m All The Talk and Sydney winner Straturbo. She has 2012 and 2013 fillies by Manhattan Rain, and is in foal to Not A Single Doubt.

Arrowfield’s next consignment of yearlings, for the Inglis Melbourne Premier Sale, can be previewed here.
