He trained Snitzel to Group 1 success and has trained a remarkable 22 winners by him, including Arrowfield graduates Snitzerland, Hot Snitzel and Flying Snitzel.

So it was no surprise to see Gerald Ryan secure Arrowfield’s filly from Last Blaze with a bid of $350,000 during the third session of the Magic Millions Gold Coast Sale. He also trained the filly’s sister Hollyweird to Group-placed city success.

Thirty-three lots later, Ryan added another Snitzel yearling to his stable, this time Yarraman Park’s filly from the Catbird mare Makemeasupermodel, bought for $120,000.

The top-priced Snitzel colt of the Sale to date also went through the ring today. A son of Keela (by Woodman), he was offered by Rosemont Stud and bought for $280,000 by trainer Paul Perry.

Group 2 winner Sweet Idea, who starts in tomorrow’s $1 million Magic Millions 3YO Guineas, will be joined in the Gai Waterhouse stable by her sister, sold by Arrowfield for $200,000 to the champion trainer and James Harron Bloodstock today.

David Henderson, co-owner of Sweet Idea, paid the same price for the Snitzel-Helvetia colt offered by Robyn Wise.

In all, 25 lots by Snitzel have sold at an average price of $143,600.
