New stakeswinner for Arrowfield's Magic Millions record
Already this season, star performers Oakleigh Girl, Sweet Idea, stakes-placed 2YO Geromayo and debut Sydney winner Invisible have extended Arrowfield’s outstanding Magic Millions graduate record.
That record was boosted again yesterday when 4YO Mystic Power (Not A Single Doubt-Tennessee Sunrise, by End Sweep) won the Penang TC Malaysian Magic Millions Classic 1200m LR. Prizemoney for the race was RM1 million (approximately $340,000).
A $110,000 purchase by the Altieri family’s Newlands Thoroughbreds from Arrowfield’s 2011 Magic Millions draft, Mystic Power raced as Tennessee Wills in Australia. He made six appearances as a 2YO, all but one of them in Melbourne, and was third in the MVRC St Albans S. LR.
Sent to Malaysia in December 2012, Mystic Power has progressed steadily for his new trainer Johnny Lim and owner the Pathfinder Stable, winning in June and August before yesterday’s victory. His career earnings now stand at more than $230,000.
Mystic Power is the 21st stakeswinner for Not A Single Doubt, and another breeding success for long-time Arrowfield client Michael Pitt.
Tennessee Sunrise has left two other winners, including Mystic Power’s Group-placed older sister Sweepstaking, and has two unraced colts, a 2YO by All American, and a yearling by Not A Single Doubt, to be offered in the Flinders Park Stud draft at the Inglis Melbourne Premier Sale.
