Redoute's Choice colt impresses in debut win

Smart debut winners always catch the eye and last Thursday at Bendigo it was the turn of Selectify, a 3YO colt by Redoute’s Choice from Personify, one of four juvenile stakeswinners sired by Galileo during his five seasons in Australia.

That makes Selectify a close relation of three Group 1 performers (South African champion sprinter Laisserfaire, stakeswinners Foreplay & Time Thief) and Group-placed winner A Time for Julia. He’s also the younger brother of Laser Flash, a stakes-placed winner over 1900 metres in Sydney last season.

The family obviously clicks with Danehill and Redoute’s Choice, but individuals always require individual management, as Selectify’s owner-breeder Bruce Neill explains.

“Selectify has always been a nice but big horse, so we elected to give him plenty of time to develop. We plan to pick up another win over next the few weeks and hopefully finish this preparation with a 3YO black type race towards the end of the Spring Carnival.

Bruce adds, “Personify’s yearling is our best for the 2014 Easter Sale, a quality filly by More Than Ready, and her Snitzel foal is a good-sized, neat, flashy and attractive filly.”

Redoute’s Choice’s current 3YOs were foaled in the year of his second Australian sires’ championship and they are already putting their mark on his record. Group 3 winner Aussies Love Sport is heading to next weekend’s Caulfield Guineas G1, Liberty’s Choice was second in Saturday’s ATC Ming Dynasty H. LR and Sensibility was runner-up in the Flight S. G1 at only her third start.
