Animal Kingdom's Ascot Diary: A quiet morning at Lambourn

The simple routines of a quiet morning in David Lanigan’s Lambourn yard are shown in Part 3, the latest video in Animal Kingdom’s Ascot Diary.

The Dubai World Cup winner is greeted by Graham Motion’s travelling assistant trainer Alice Clapham and his legs are checked by vet Louis Castro who treats him with one of his favourite mints.

Animal Kingdom then trots up for a final vet check before his legs are wrapped in his trademark blue bandages. Next up is a quiet gentleman’s walk around the covered yard before an enjoyable pick of grass.

Animal Kingdom’s world will be very much busier in two weeks’ time when he steps out on the first day of Royal Ascot for the Group 1 Queen Anne Stakes. He currently shares favouritism for the race with Godolphin’s impressive Lockinge Stakes G1 winner Farhh.

Animal Kingdom will join the Arrowfield roster this spring, standing at a fee of $38,500 inc. GST.
