Not A Single Doubt Victorius in Hong Kong

Not A Single Doubt’s 4YO son Victorius posted his first win in Hong Kong on today’s Derby card, in the Class 3 Collection Handicap over 1200 metres.

The John Size-trained gelding began well and settled behind the leading bunch until jockey Douglas Whyte peeled him out on the home turn. Victorius quickened up smartly to take the lead and win by a half-length in 1.09.50.

It was his third start since arriving in Hong Kong last May, after a 3-length debut win in Victoria under the name Forthright Opinion, and his subseqent sale to his new owners Michael Lee & Dr Henry Chan Hin Lee. He is the second Hong Kong winner this season for Not A Single Doubt following 3YO Seasons Star who has won twice from the Tony Cruz stable.

Victorius is the first foal of Our Greta, a winning daughter of Avondale Cup G1 winner Silky Oak (by the very good but poorly appreciated sire Oak Ridge). He is inbred 3 x 2 to Rory’s Jester, sire of Our Greta and Not A Single Doubt’s dam Singles Bar.

Our Greta has a weanling sister to Victorius, who was originally purchased by John Foote for $105,000 from the Mill Park draft at the 2010 Inglis Melbourne Premier Sale.
