Bonaria makes 101 for Redoute's Choice
His celebrity sons Snitzel and Not A Single Doubt have earned plenty of applause this season, but Redoute’s Choice isn’t moving from centre stage anytime soon.

Only two weeks after achieving his milestone 100th individual stakeswinner, the head of Arrowfield’s roster made it 101 when his daughter Bonaria slipped through on the rails to win the $150,000 VRC Matron S. 1600m G3 for her owner-breeders Robert & Deborah Anderson and trainer Pat Hyland.
It was a well-deserved success for the 4YO mare who has been consistent in city company and had already earned black type when second to Mosheen in the VRC Blazer S. G2 last spring. She is the third Group winner from the fine broodmare Decidity (Last Tycoon), following Time Out and Legally Bay (dam of Group 2 winner Jolie Bay).
Bonaria’s catalogue page received a further boost at Flemington yesterday when 2YO Montsegur, from Decidity’s Flying Spur daughter Chatoyant, won the VRC Thoroughbred Breeders’ S. G3.
Bonaria was one of three stakes performers for Redoute’s Choice yesterday. His 2YO son Great Esteem (ex Park Esteem by Singspiel) was a close third, at only his second start, to Twilight Royale and Shamus Award (by Snitzel) in the VRC Sires’ Produce S. G2.
And in Perth Bob & Sandra Peters’ home-bred Redoute’s Choice 3YO filly Antique Belle (ex Antique by Metal Storm) was the runner-up in the WATC Ascot 1000 Guineas 1800m LR. She won the WATC Burgess Queen S. LR earlier this season.
Redoute’s Choice has been represented by 15 stakeswinners worldwide this season, 10 of them in Australia where his season earnings are knocking on the door of $6 million.
An outstanding group of 34 yearlings by Redoute’s Choice will be offered at next month’s Inglis Australian Easter Sale, six in the Arrowfield draft, and one in the Bellerive Stud consignment.
