Young Professionals in Racing join partnership in Group 1 prospect Vadashan

Group 1 hopeful Vadashan will race in new colours from his next start with an exciting new partnership announced today.

Young Professionals in Racing (YPR), a group intended to develop the next generation of racing enthusiasts, have secured a share in ownership of the three-year-old son of Australia?s dual champion sire Redoute?s Choice .

Vadashan will now be raced in partnership by Arrowfield Stud, Saeed Naser Al Romaithi, Renata Coleman & Young Professionals in Racing and will wear the YPR silks of white jacket with YPR logo, pink sleeves and teal cap.

Young Professionals in Racing chair Kathryn Thomson said the opportunity to race a horse of this calibre was an incredibly exciting prospect for YPR members, who would now have their own horse to follow through the Autumn.

?This is a fantastic opportunity for young people on the fringe of racing who may be considering racehorse ownership in the future. YPR?s involvement with Vadashan provides a social and educational alternative to the sometimes daunting responsibilities associated with racehorse ownership, yet enables members to experience all the excitement of racing a horse they feel connected to,? Ms Thomson said.

?We are truly grateful to Arrowfield and their partners in Vadashan for their support of this initiative and look forward to working together to achieve a strong future for the thoroughbred industry, through increasing awareness and participation in racing. ?It?s also very fitting that Vadashan is by Redoute?s Choice, given that YPR has recently joined forces with the Redoute?s Choice Club.?

Already off to a promising start with convincing wins at Kembla Grange last month, and at Warwick Farm last Saturday, Vadashan is indeed an exhilarating prospect for all his owners.

Trainer Paul Messara is pleased with how Vadashan has come through last Saturday?s race and is busy mapping out his Autumn campaign. ?I?ve always thought a lot of him, as a classic prospect with a turn of foot. He has been given plenty of time to mature, and it?s very pleasing to begin his career with two wins.?

This ?social racing? initiative is structured on a zero-equity basis for members of YPR, who pay no costs and receive no prizemoney, but will be regularly updated on Vadashan?s progress and are welcome to attend the colt?s trackwork. Ballots will also be held to select a group of members who will enjoy ownership privileges on days when he is racing.

Vadashan was bred by H.H. The Aga Khan and Arrowfield Stud, from the French stakes-winning mare Vadsalina, a half-sister to Vadawina (Longchamp Prix Saint-Alary G1) and dual Group 3 winner Vadapolina, from the family of Group 1 winners Valixir and Val Royal.

YPR provides opportunities for members to generate a new network of like-minded racing enthusiasts, enjoy unique industry experiences such as attending bloodstock sales, trackwork, stud tours, fashion events and punting previews all in connection with some of the biggest names in the business. The group invites anyone keen to learn more about the thoroughbred racing and breeding industries to get involved – visit www.ypr.com.au
