Aceland's All American colt supports a good cause

A generous breeder and his All American colt are doing their bit to support the state’s Salvation Army Bushfire Appeal.

Alwyn “Ace” Shaw, of Aceland Stud, will donate half the proceeds from the sale of his All American-Whitemore Dynasty colt at the upcoming Magic Millions Tasmanian Yearling Sale.

All American’s first yearlings have already found favour with buyers at the Magic Millions Gold Coast and Inglis Classic Sales, averaging more than $70,000 for 29 lots sold at the two sales. Aceland’s colt is the first foal of the winning Belong to Me mare Whitemore Dynasty, from the family of Group 1 winners Taiki Fortune, Tentam and Known Fact.

Magic Millions have supported the Stud’s initiative and will donate the sale entry fee and half of all commissions on the colt.

As a bonus to the buyer, the colt will be sold having already been paid up for the Australia-wide Magic Millions Race Series – a value of $3,300.

“This is a great initiative from Ace Shaw and the team from Aceland Stud,” said Magic Millions Managing Director Vin Cox.

“We’re delighted to be able to support the wonderful act of generosity from Ace and we hope the colt will be popular at the sale and raise a healthy figure for the bushfire appeal.”

Aceland Stud has 10 yearlings catalogued, and will act as agent for another three, for the Magic Millions Tasmanian Yearling Sale in Launceston on 14 February. The only other Arrowfield-sired lot in the catalogue is the Snitzel-Butzie filly that Armidale Stud will offer on behalf of Reibey Lodge.

Ace Shaw is a staunch supporter of the thoroughbred industry, particularly in Tasmania. His sponsorship includes the Magic Millions Tasmanian 2YO Classic through his Shaw Contracting operation. In a fitting result Aceland Stud sold last year’s Classic winner Tiger’s Cub.

Ace said, “Life has been very good to me and this is a way of giving something back. The bushfires in parts of Tasmanian have devastated many and I wanted to be able to contribute and came up with this idea.

“Interest in the All American colt has been good and hopefully when he goes under the hammer on February 14 he can attract plenty of bids.

“Thanks to Vin Cox, David Chester and the team from Magic Millions for their support of a great cause.”

The Stud will also offer a second All American colt, from Aceland (by Stravinsky) at the Inglis Melbourne Premier Sale, and has a third mare, Viking Rose, in foal to the Group 1-winning son of Red Ransom.
