Not A Single Doubt & Snitzel top the Classic Sale

Arrowfield’s young gun sires Snitzel & Not A Single Doubt dominated proceedings at the two-day Inglis Classic Sale which ended yesterday with a healthy overall improvement on last year’s trading.

The two sons of Redoute’s Choice supplied five of the Sale’s top 10 lots, and headed the sire averages. Snitzel ended the Sale with 7 lots sold for an average price of $77,276, while Not A Single Doubt posted an average of $56,778 for 18 lots sold.

Not A Single Doubt claimed the equal top-priced yearling of the sale, the colt from the Anabaa mare Fleecing. He was offered by the Ferguson family’s Bell River Thoroughbreds and purchased by Perth trainer Neville Parnham for $170,000 – Bell River’s best-ever sale price. The colt is a full-brother to city winner Conroy’s Gap from the family of one of Not A Single Doubt’s 11 stakeswinners, the Western Australian galloper Cavallo Pazzo.

Arrowfield sold Snitzel’s top-priced lot, the filly from Deputy Lil, bought by Kitchwin Hills for $135,000, a figure also achieved by Huntworth Stud‘s Not A Single Doubt-Happy Camper filly, knocked down to the team of First Light Racing, Ellerton Zahra Racing & Paul Willetts. Huntworth Stud was the vendor of last year’s $105,000 Classic Sale colt by Charge Forward from Lady of Choice, now known as Group 3 winner Direct Charge.

Two lots by Snitzel, Widden Stud‘s $120,000 filly from Can’t Hackit and the $105,000 colt from Forestress offered by Southern Cross Breeders, also made the Sale’s top ten prices.

Other highlight results for vendors selling Arrowfield-sired yearlings were Marquee Stud‘s Starcraft-Bodacious Harmony colt ($77,500), Torryburn Stud‘s Starcraft-She’s Academic colt ($76,000), Arrowfield‘s All American-Patronage colt ($75,000) and Manx Park‘s Manhattan Rain-Starry Way colt ($72,500).
