Packing Ok third in Hong Kong Mile G1

Packing Ok represents Redoute’s Choice with distinction in Hong Kong, and today he added a major international Group 1 performance to his record when third in the $HK20 million Hong Kong Mile 1600m G1.

The 6YO gelding sat just behind the early leader Don Bosco during the first half of the race and fought on strongly for third, two lengths from the winner Ambitious Dragon, and just over a length behind Glorious Days (by former Arrowfield sire Hussonet).

Packing Ok’s jockey Weiching Marwong reported afterwards, “I was comfortable throughout the race and he ran very well.”

Trained by John Moore for Raymond Lee Man Chun, Packing Ok has won six of his 22 starts in a career that began almost three years ago with a win and a placing in Victoria. 2012 has proved to be his best year yet, with successes in the Centenary Vase HK-3 and National Day Cup HK-3, and the Hong Kong Mile third taking his earnings close to $A1 million.

Packing Ok was bred by Teeley Assets which has retained his 4YO full sister, Flame of Lanka, both from the multiple stakeswinner Abbadena (by Runyon).
