New stakeswinner for Redoute's Choice son

Redoute’s Choice already has nine stakes-siring sons and three of them can also claim international Group 1 sire status: Stratum (sire of Crystal Lily & Streama), Bradbury’s Luck (Luckygray) and Duelled (Shootoff). A fourth son, Not A Single Doubt includes the Singapore Group 1 winner Always Certain among his eight stakeswinners.

Today Duelled added a new stakeswinner to his record when 4YO Guns at Five (ex Accidentallyinlove by Cape Cross) made a powerful late run to win the WTC New Zealand St Leger 2500m LR at Trentham.

Duelled, himself a Group 2 winner and second in Benicio’s Victoria Derby G1, also supplied the third placegetter Endor.

At it happens, Guns at Five is descended from another St Leger winner, the fine racemare Chaleyer, winner of the AJC St Leger G2, and thrice-placed at Group 1 level, in the Sydney Cup, VRC Oaks and Canterbury Guineas. Her non-winning daughters have produced three Group winners: Marrok, Appeal Process & Sworn To Secrecy. Her grand-daughter Accidentallyinlove also failed to win, but has extended the family’s black type record with her first foal to race.
