Arrowfield colt tops Sydney Classic Sale

Arrowfield’s colt by Hussonet from Monte Rosa attracted plenty of attention at this week’s Inglis Sydney Classic Sale, but buyers had to wait until the last hour of the auction on Tuesday evening to bid on him.

Neither the colt, nor the bidding disappointed as he was knocked down to trainer Mauro Poletti for the sale’s top price of $140,000.

As Arrowfield Operations Manager Sam Fairgray said afterwards, “He’s a lovely, well-balanced colt with great strength, was extremely popular and paraded very well.”

The chestnut colt is a full-brother to stakes-placed winner Red Dress Marley, and half-bother to the winners Deleque and Akmal, and this season’s debut 2YO stakes performer Snitzerland (by Snitzel ). Their dam is a sister to G3 winner Nina Haraka, from the accomplished “Tennessee” family that has also produced Magic Millions 2YO Classic winner Mirror Mirror and her daughter No Looking Back (by Redoute’s Choice ), second in this year’s Magic Millions Classic.

All eleven Classic Sale yearlings offered by Arrowfield found new homes, achieving an average price of almost $60,000.
