A two-time winner from his first four starts, Perfect Punch started hot favourite today and duly became Starcraft’s 10th individual stakeswinner, and his 7th individual stakes performer this season.

Perfect Punch is trained by Leon Macdonald & Andrew Gluyas for owners Harry & Hamish Perks, Graeme Bignell, Rob Chapman & Dick Jones, who paid $300,000 for him at the 2010 Inglis Melbourne Premier Sale. Bred by the Countrywide Breeding Syndicate from the stakes-winning mare Tayasu Run (by Tayasu Tsuyoshi, a son of Sunday Silence), Perfect Punch is from a family that has produced many good horses in Western Australia, including Group 1 winners The Bukhra and Fair’s Print.

Dual Group 1 winners Star Witness & We Can Say It Now head Starcraft’s stakeswinners from his first two crops, while Perfect Punch follows 3YO filly Celebrity Girl (VRC Cap D’Antibes S. LR) to become his second 2011/12 stakeswinner.

The other five stakes performers by Starcraft in Australia this season are: Hallowell Belle, Do You Think, Secret Hills, Crafty Irna and Quackquack.
