Madly successful week for Redoute's Choice

High-class sprinter Sister Madly signed off on a tremendous week for her champion sire Redoute’s Choice when she defeated a talented field of mares by more than two lengths in the $125,000 MRC How Now S. 1200m G3 at Caulfield this afternoon.

It was the third win in 14 starts for the half-sister to Hong Kong champion Silent Witness and her second Group win after a similarly dominant victory in February’s ATC Southern Cross S. G3.

Bred by Ian Smith, the 5YO mare is trained by John Sadler for new owner Segenhoe Thoroughbreds which paid $1 million for her at the Magic Millions National Broodmare Sale in June.

Sister Madly is the fourth Group winner in eight days by Redoute’s Choice, following last Saturday’s triple treat, courtesy of King’s Rose (MVRC W.H. Stocks S. G2), Rekindled Interest (MVRC Dat Tan Chin Nam S. G2) and Master of Design (ATC Theo Marks S. G2).

The good news doesn’t stop there for Redoute’s Choice. He has also been represented this week by three Group placegetters: Rekindled Alliance & Light Brigade (at Newcastle on Wednesday) and Florentina, a brave third in today’s ATC Tea Rose S. G2.

Redoute’s Choice’s nine other winners around Australia & New Zealand during that period included an impressive debut win on Wednesday by 3YO colt Burgundy (ex Grand Echezeaux by Zabeel), the three-quarter brother to Group 1 winner and promising young sire Darci Brahma.

With more than $1.6 million prizemoney and 38 winners, including his four Group winners, Redoute’s Choice currently holds the No. 1 spot on the Australian General Sires’ list.
