Starcraft's Belle is back

One of Australia’s most precocious and exciting juveniles last season, Starcraft ‘s daughter Hallowell Belle finally broke through for her first win at Seymour this afternoon.

It was a fine effort on a Dead5 track, and required the chestnut filly to overcome a determined challenge by Zamorar who headed her in the straight.

Owned by Western Australian Craig Thompson and UK-based David Walpole, Hallowelle Belle made an early impact when a close second to Redoute’s Choice filly Florentina at the first Sydney 2YO trials on 20 September 2010. Twelve days later she was runner-up to Defiant Dame in the AJC Gimcrack S. LR.

Hallowell Belle re-appeared in February to run third in the MRC Blue Diamond Prelude (f) G3, followed by an outstanding second to eventual champion 2YO Sepoy in the MRC Blue Diamond S. G1.

The focus now shifts to the major 3YO tests of the spring and Hallowell Belle has once again struck early to put herself in the front rank of contenders.

Starcraft, the brilliant young sire of Group 1 winners Star Witness & We Can Say It Now among his 7 stakeswinners in 2010/11, stands the 2011 season at a fee of $44,000 inc. GST.
