Never Doubt Me scores valuable Randwick win

Not A Single Doubt’s first Australian winner for 2011/12 epitomises the professional competitiveness that make his progeny so popular with trainers.

Never Doubt Me (ex Anna Liffey by Dieu d’Or) took the lead early in the 1300-metre ATC Bronte Handicap for 3YO fillies and kicked clear off the rise to win by three lengths, despite giving weight to both placegetters, Shuswap and Gliding. It was the talented filly’s fifth win in nine starts, and boosted her prizemoney to $104,580, plus a valuable $20,000 BOBS bonus from today’s victory.

As reported by Thoroughbred News, Never Doubt Me’s trainer and part-owner Neil Godbolt said, “She has been a very honest little filly for us and I did not expect to see her win like that, but it is very nice and it will make the trip home very enjoyable.

“I will take her home and see how she pulls up but there is probably a fair chance she will have a break for awhile as she has done a good job and you cannot be too greedy.”

Godbolt purchased Never Doubt Me, a half-sister to 14-time winner Silver Street, for $8,000 from the Toolooganvale draft at the 2010 Inglis June Winter Sale.

Not A Single Doubt is the sire of 100 winners, a remarkable 62% of his progeny to race, among them six stakeswinners. He stands the 2011 season at a fee of $24,750 inc. GST.
