Not A Single Doubt's season ends with certainty

The rise and rise of Not A Single Doubt has been one of the 2010/11 season’s best stories and it has ended on the perfect note, with Always Certain‘s victory in this evening’s $S300,000 Singapore TC Chairman’s Trophy 1800m Sing-2 at Kranji.

The 4YO gelding, bred by Dr Paul Cradock from Akarana (by Akaaber) produced a powerful finish to claim the favourite Gingerbread Man and score by a half-length in 1.48.16.

Always Certain’s trainer Michael Freedman – who also prepared Mr Big and Rush (by Charge Forward ) to quinella the feature 2YO race of the evening – said afterwards, “He’s such a talented horse and it’s very satisfying to see him finally win a big race for my friend Bernard [Lee] who has been one of my supporters from day one.

“I will now seriously look at the [Singapore] Gold Cup as I’m sure he will run a great 2200 metres.”

Purchased for $60,000 by Badgers Bloodstock from the Swettenham Stud draft at the 2008 Magic Millions Gold Coast Yearling Sale, Always Certain has now earned more than $790,000 from six wins and nine placings for the Horizon Stable. His first black type win came last September, in the 1600-metre Committee’s Prize Sing-3, and he is one of Not A Single Doubt’s six stakeswinners this season.

Not A Single Doubt closed out the Australian racing season with wins by 2YO filly Jackpot Queen at Caulfield yesterday, and Arrowfield’s own 3YO colt Dashing Dunlop at the Sunshine Coast today. With 60 winners and almost $4.5 million prizemoney from only three crops of racing age, the son of Redoute’s Choice ends 2010/11 inside the top 20 Australian sires.

Not A Single Doubt stands at a 2011 fee of $24,750 inc. GST.
