Not A Single Doubt 2YO sold for $300,000

A 2YO by Not A Single Doubt has sold for $NZ300,000 at the New Zealand Bloodstock Ready to Run Sale at Karaka. This is the highest face-value figure bid at auction for a Not Single Doubt, surpassing the $A260,000 paid for the On the Loose colt at this year’s Inglis Melbourne Premier Sale.

The bay gelding was bred by Western Australian Michael McDermott and was sold at Karaka from the draft of Anna Scott Racing Stables to World Wide Bloodstock.

His dam Hiavanna (by Mister C) is a non-winning sibling of eleven winners, among them the Group 3-winning sprinter-miler Headstrong. Hiavanna has already left three winners including Sydney stakeswinner Havana Wind, and is foaling again to Not A Single Doubt this spring.

Not A Single Doubt is the sire of six stakeswinners, five of them at Group level including this season’s Singapore Group 1 winner Always Certain and the brilliant 3YO filly Karuta Queen. He has 15 yearlings catalogued for the 2012 Magic Millions Gold Coast Sale, among them Arrowfield’s colt from Sybarite , a half-sister to South African champion Laisserfaire and stakeswinners Foreplay and Time Thief.
