In all, five of his 8 wins were at Group 1 level from 1600 to 2500 metres and he ended his career rated among the world’s top 5 horses of 2024, with a figure of 125.
Unbeaten in 3 juvenile starts, Do Deuce was named Champion 2YO Colt after defeating the favourite (and future Champion Sprinter) Serifos in the 1600-metre Hanshin Asahi Hai Futurity G1.
At three Do Deuce inflicted one of only two defeats on the record of World Champion Racehorse Equinox, in the Tokyo Yushun G1 (Japan Derby), won by Do Deuce in race record time of 2:21.9. Past Derby winners include champion & leading sires Deep Impact, King Kamehameha, Duramente, Kizuna & Orfevre.
Do Deuce returned at 4 to win the 2023 Nakayama Arima Kinen G1 and in 2024 he crowned his career with two exceptional victories in the Tokyo Tenno Sho (Autumn) G1 and at his final start, the Tokyo Japan Cup G1.
Bred by Northern Farm, Do Deuce is the best son of Heart’s Cry (by Sunday Silence) whose 12 Group 1 winners also include 2019 Horse of the Year & Cox Plate G1 heroine Lys Gracieux, Caulfield Cup G1 winner Admire Rakti and Suave Richard, last year’s Champion Second Season Sire in Japan.
Do Deuce’s dam Dust and Diamonds (by Seattle Slew’s Champion 2YO son Vindication) was a two-time US Graded stakeswinner and runner-up in the Breeders’ Cup Filly & Mare Sprint G1. She was purchased for US$1 million by Katsumi Yoshida from the 2016 Keeneland November Sale.
