Hussonet sons extend black type records

Two takented sons of Arrowfield’s outstanding international sire Hussonet extended their black type records with excellent placings at Moonee Valley this evening.

5YO gelding Eagle Falls (ex Desina by Desert King) was the only runner still on the bit after the brilliant Hay List turned up the heat in the MVRC Manikato S. 1200m G1, and he ran on strongly for third from an awkward position. Bred by George Altomonte’s Corumbene Stud, and winner of last year’s VRC Salinger S. G2, Eagle Falls was having his first start since two commendable fifth placings in Group 1 sprints in Dubai and Singapore earlier this year.

Thirty minutes after the Manikato, 3YO colt Run For Levi (ex Madam Bligh by Nine Carat) set a strong pace in the MVRC Bill Stutt S. 1600m G2 and found enough in the straight to withstand the challenges of all his rivals except Hollowlea. Run for Levi was bred by Wall Street Thoroughbreds and won the BRC Doomben Slipper LR in May.

Hussonet is the sire of 75 stakeswinners, including 27 at Group One level – more than any other active stallion in Australia.
