Second Group winner for Not a Single Doubt

Not a Single Doubt ‘s 4YO son Doubtful Jack posted his fourth consecutive win at Flemington, and his first Group victory, in the $200,000 VRC Bobbie Lewis Quality 1200m G3 this afternoon.

It was a commanding performance by the handsome, laidback gelding who was freshened after his brilliant VRC Winter Championship LR win on 10 July and returned to a sprint distance after proving himself at 1600 metres. Today he settled comfortably on the pace before quickening up smoothly and striding home more than three lengths ahead of Beltrois and About Ready.

The win took Doubtful Jack’s record to seven wins, two placings and almost $500,000 from 13 starts – a fine return on the $100,000 paid for him at the 2008 Magic Millions Premier Yearling Sale.

Peter Moody, who trains the gelding for owner Allan Meads, indicated that Doubtful Jack’s step up to Group One company is likely to come in the MRC Sir Rupert Clarke S. 1400m G1 on 18 September.

One of Australia’s most exciting young sires, Not a Single Doubt has made an outstanding start to the 2010/11 season, with two Group winners, Squamosa (STC Run to the Rose H. G3, and 2nd, STC Golden Rose S. G1) and Doubtful Jack, inside three weeks, and ten other winners around Australia, most recently Bradgate Park at Wyong on Thursday. The son of Redoute’s Choice has also been represented by winners in South Africa (3YO Castlethorpe) and Singapore (4YO Always Certain).

Not a Single Doubt stands at Arrowfield in 2010 at a fee of $13,750 (inc. GST).
