All American's half-sister wins Furious S. G2

The quality international pedigree of Arrowfield’s freshman sire All American added a new Group winner today when his talented half-sister More Strawberries (by More Than Ready) broke her maiden in the $175,000 NSW Tatt’s Furious S. 1400m G2 at Randwick.

Trained by Gai Waterhouse for owner-breeder John Singleton’s Strawberry Hill Stud Syndicate, the 3YO filly, who shares her good looks and dark colour with her half-brother, was driven forward by Nash Rawiller and set an easy pace in the middle stages before lifting the tempo over the hill. It was enough to hold off Divorces and hot favourite Parables, and give the Strawberry Road mare Milva her second Group winner, after G1 All American, from her five named foals.

More Strawberries, who was an outstanding third in last season’s STC Golden Slipper S. G1, will now head to the AJC Flight S. 1600m G1 on 2 October.

All American, a G1 performer at two, three and four, stands his first season at Arrowfield in 2010 at a fee of $16,500 (inc. GST).
