First Japanese Group performer for Snitzel

Snitzel added the first black type to his Japanese progeny record when his two-year-old daughter Rurinigana (ex Dame Compagnie by Kingmambo) finished third, only 1.5 lengths from the winner, in the Hakodate Nisai S. 1200m G3 on Sunday.

The filly, bred and raced by Kawashima Bukojo, and trained by Daishi Ito, was having only her second start after winning on debut last month. She is one of three debut winners from Snitzel’s 1st Crop Japanese two-year-olds, the others being Floreal (ex Floreana, by Dance in the Dark) and Nahema (ex Taiki Prelude by Cozzene).

Snitzel finished second on the 2009/10 Australian 1st Season Sires’ list with ten individual winners headed by G2 CHANCE BYE and stakes-placed Jypsiere. A brilliant Group One-winning son of champion sire Redoute’s Choice , Snitzel stands the 2010 season at a fee of $27,500 (inc. GST).
